Resources
Tianjin is rich in natural resources.
There are more than 30 proven metal ores, nonmetal ores
and fuel ores. The metal ores include the ores of manganese-boron,
manganese, gold, tungsten, molybdenum, copper, lead,
zinc and etc. The manganese-boron ore is firstly discovered
in China. Nonmetal ores mainly include cement-lime rock,
barite, marble, natural oilstone, pottery clay, medical
stone and etc. Fuel ores include oil, natural gas, coal,
and coal gas. Dagang oilfield and Bohai oilfield on
the southeast Tianjin are famous pools in China. |

Tianjin
has also plenty of geothermal resources with total area of
2968sq.km. Its output of salt is very large, and the sodium
chloride content is 96%-98%. Salt is the important raw material
of marine chemical. There are 270sq.km plains, uncultivated
lands, which are under development. Tianjin is an ideal place
for developing oil-chemical and marine chemical industries. |
